Quarterly Sewing Program

This is a sewing course to continue learning and practicing after a beginner's sewing course.

It is designed for people who already know the basic operation of a sewing machine and want to deepen their skills and develop greater autonomy through practical projects.

Unlike a closed course, each student progresses at their own pace and can choose the projects that interest them most. At Lantoki, we will propose projects suitable for this level — bags, backpacks, toiletry bags, organizers, and other accessories — but you can also propose your own ideas.

During the course, you will be able to develop simple sewing projects, make clothing repairs, adapt garments, or create accessories with the guidance of the teachers. Pattern making or advanced garment making are not covered, as the objective is to consolidate sewing techniques and gain fluency with the machine. If you are looking for these types of projects, you can come to our Open Classroom.

Throughout the course, you will incorporate and practice sewing techniques such as zippers, linings, pockets, bias tape, handles, closures, and finishes. Each quarter you can continue to advance and consolidate what you have learned, working on new projects and techniques, so you can continue as long as you want, gradually increasing in difficulty and autonomy.

An ideal course for those who want to continue sewing regularly, learn new techniques, and enjoy a shared creative space after the beginner's course.

Materials

The workshop provides students with sewing machines, overlocks, cutting tools, and common-use materials.

Students must bring the necessary materials for each project (fabrics, zippers, notions, threads, and other specific elements). Before coming to class, we will guide you on the materials you need to get started.

12 sessions of 2 hours each (24 hours in total).

This course is organized by quarters and the spot can be renewed before the end of each period.
